Ankara intends to unite the Turkic diaspora around the world to oppose allegations on the so-called "Armenian genocide", the Hurriyet newspaper reported.
Turkey's this step is directed against large-scale actions scheduled for 2015, which will be timed to the 100th anniversary of the so-called "Armenian genocide". As part of countering this lie Turkish and Azerbaijani diaspora will gather at an international conference on Sept.15, which will be attended by about a thousand Turkish and Azerbaijani politicians, public figures, scientists, parliamentarians and representatives of literature and art from many countries.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that the predecessor of the Turkey - Ottoman Empire had committed the 1915 genocide against the Armenians living in Anadolu, and achieved recognition of the "Armenian Genocide" by the parliaments of several countries.
