The South African province of KwaZulu-Natal intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan, the province's official Nhlanhla Ngidi said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to South Africa Elkhan Polukhov, the embassy reported on Monday.
Ngidi stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's openness for cooperation and noted the intention to organize a visit of businessmen of the province to the country in order to establish close economic relations.
The director general of the province said that one of the largest cities of South African Republic -- Durban - can play an important role in establishing close economic relations.
Polukhov informed the leadership of the province about Azerbaijan, its political and economic course, spoke in detail about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, raised the issue of establishing direct contacts between the cities of both countries.
