Voting at the second round of parliamentary elections in Iran ended at 20:00 local time on Friday.

Earlier the Central Election Commission extended voting hours two times one hour each at all polling stations, Mehr news agency reported.

The voting hours were reportedly extended due to high amount of people willing to cast their votes.

The second round of parliamentary elections began in Iran at 08:00 local time today, which will continue until 18:00. According to the law, the parliamentary elections must last 10 hours, but if there is a need, the interior minister may extend the voting time.

Overall, 130 candidates from 33 constituencies of Iran participate in the elections. Among 130 candidates, 65 will be elected into the country's parliament.

Iran's Intelligence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said today that 225 electees underwent country's parliamentary accreditation.

The first meeting of the Iranian parliament is planned to be held on the seventh date of Khordad month 1391 in Islamic calendar (May 27, 2012).
