The Azerbaijani-Russian relations, based on strategic partnership, continue to successfully develop in all spheres, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statement to the participants of the third inter-regional forum Russian-Azerbaijani dialogue-2012, which began in Baku today.
Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev read out the President's message.
"I warmly welcome you, participants and guests of the third Russian-Azerbaijani inter-regional forum," the President's message said. "It is remarkable that the form, becoming a tradition, has turned into an effective forum to discuss urgent issues of bilateral cooperation."
"Intensifying the relations in economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian spheres has a positive impact on the welfare of the citizens of both countries, strengthens the historic ties of friendship between the nations," the President's message said.
"The recent experience shows that the creation of favorable trade-economic and investment climate among the regions of neighboring countries will help prevent the negative effects of the global financial crisis faced by many world countries," the President's message said.
"In this respect, the inter-regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is a good example," the President's message said. "I would like to stress that presently our country has direct relations with most of the entities of the Russian Federation. The intergovernmental agreements have been signed with some of them."
In his message, President Aliyev has expressed confidence that the business dialogue and discussions in the forum will give a new impetus to the development of Azerbaijani-Russian relations, further intensify mutual understanding and expand cooperation between the countries.
