Peru is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan and creating to this end a legal framework between the two countries, Foreign Minister of Peru Rafael Roncagliolo said at the meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov who is on a visit to this country, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also expressed his country's interest in expanding cooperation with Peru.
Mammadyarov conveyed to his counterpart a letter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the President of Peru.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stressed the importance of mutual visits, organisation of business forums and cultural events for the development of relations between the two countries.
He also invited his counterpart to pay a visit to Baku.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani Minister also met with the Minister of Energy and Mines Jorge Merino. The sides discussed prospects of cooperation between the two countries in this field.
