The delegation of Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations is participating in exercises in Georgia, official website of the ministry reported on Monday.
Military exercises 'Georgia 2012' have started with organization of NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and Georgian MIA emergency management department.
The main purpose of the exercises is organization of associated and effective cooperation during emergency situations in partner countries and members of NATO.
The exercises will continue till September 28.
The exercise scenario of 'Georgia 2012' consists of liquidation of conditional earthquake aftermath with the force of 6.8 on the Richter scale in the central part of Georgia- Kvemo Kartli region, located 35 km to the south of Tbilisi.
The personnel of the Ministry on Emergency Situations , consisting of 60 people, will conduct search and rescue operations, as well as operations on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear medical service.
The commanders of partner states and members of NATO, as well as representatives of UN, EU and other international organizations take part in the exercises.
