Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to visit Tajikistan next week, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Yuri Popov said on Wednesday, CA-News reports.
He believes that this visit may add a new impetus to the relations of Tajikistan and Russia.
Last week a Russian delegation headed by the country's first vice Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov paid a visit to this country.
After the visit Shuvalov stated that Moscow and Dushanbe are very close to the signing of agreement on future of Russian 201st military base in Tajikistan.
He added that all problems concerning this issue either solved or are close to resolution.
