Georgian new parliament to begin working in Kutaisi

The new parliament of the eight convocation will begin working in the Kutaisi building of the Georgian parliament at 13:00 on Sunday. The Parliament will deal with procedural issues today.

Initially, all 150 MPs' authority will be recognized. As a result of the parliament elections, some 85 representatives of Georgian Dream opposition coalition and 65 United National Movement representatives were included.

After their authority is recognized, MPs will take an oath. Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will deliver speech. Afterwards, the chairman of the Parliament will be elected by secret ballot.

Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 1. Around 14 parties and two political blocs participated in the elections. The elections were held by mixes list majority system.
