Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Thein Sein.
"Dear Mr. President, I am pleased to extend my sincere congratulations to you and all people of Myanmar on the occasion of your public holiday - the Independence Day," the congratulatory letter said.
President Ilham Aliyev in his letter expressed hope that relations between Azerbaijan and Myanmar will continue to develop even more and contribute to expanding cooperation.
"On this remarkable day, I wish you robust health, successes in your activity and your friendly people peace and prosperity," the letter said.
