Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan.11 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /
The national flag of Georgia will not change, the State Council of Heraldry under the Parliament stated on Friday.
"Recently, in various media, internet portals and social networks the information on possible change of the national flag of Georgia is disseminated, as well as on the fact that the vice chairman of the Board of Heraldry Mamuka Gongadze alleged to solve this issue by holding a referendum," the statement said.
The Council of Heraldry categorically denies this information and claims that it is not true.
"No information on this subject was provided to any media neither by Mamuka Gongadze, nor the State Board of Heraldry. As for a possible change of state symbols, this issue is not within the competence of the State Council of Heraldry," the statement of the council says.
