Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on establishment of the Organizing Committee for holding the first European Games in Baku in 2015.
According to the decree, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijani National Olympic Committee, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva was appointed the chairman of the committee.
Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Ministry and the Baku City Executive Power jointly with the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan are entrusted to develop and submit a special action plan for holding the European Games to the Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee was instructed to address relevant issues in connection with holding the first European Games in Baku in 2015.
The Cabinet of Ministers was entrusted to resolve issues listed in the decree.
