Representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood organisation will not participate in the formation of a new government in Jordan, one of the organisation leaders in Jordan Hamam Said was quoted by the Petra Agency as saying.

He said that the kingdom's authority's proposal on participation in the Parliament will be rejected once and for all, as the purpose of the organisation is to serve the people rather than to seize power.

Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah al-Nussur last week resigned after the legislative elections. Jordanian King Abdallah II commissioned him to continue executing duties till a new government is formed.

Demonstrations have been periodically held in Jordan for two years. People demand the democratisation of society and elimination of corruption. The last time people appeared on the streets was last November to protest against the increase in fuel prices.
