Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania will visit the NATO Headquarters in Brussels this week. This was told the reporters of the First Channel OVG by the Special Representative of NATO Secretary General for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai.
According to him, the first message is that NATO wants cooperation with its exclusive partner.
"The second message is that the North Atlantic Council wants to see in Georgia what we have seen: the country where representatives of different parties sit together, discuss and agree on the fundamental issues," he said.
Appathurai stressed that NATO observes what is happening in Georgia.
"We are aware of difficult political negotiations and discussions, but it is important that until the North Atlantic Council's arrival in Georgia, the political forces agree on fundamental issues, show that Georgia is a country where collaboration on useful issues for the country is possible. In this process, I may assure you that NATO is a partner of Georgia. We are closely following the developments in Georgia. I remain in constant communication and regular contact, and we often discuss Georgian issues," James Appathurai said.
