Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem will visit Tehran. This was reported on Monday by the MEHR news agency.
According to the information, Moallem will discuss the situation in Syria and ways of conducting national negotiations with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi and other officials. It is expected that following Tehran, Moallem will make a visit to Moscow.
Clashes between the government forces and the armed opposition have continued in Syria for nearly two years. According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 70,000. Around three million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
