Ministers of Foreign Affairs of France and Turkmenistan met in Ashkhabad

The meeting with the delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Laurent Fabius took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Saturday, reported in the message of the embassy of Turkmenistan in Baku.

The wide range of questions of interstate cooperation, as well as the actual problems of the world and regional policy, representing mutual interest, was discussed in the course of the meeting.Noting the friendly and respectful character of the relations between Turkmenistan and France, the parties emphasized the importance of activization of trade and economic cooperation, supported development of cultural and humanitarian communications between two countries.

It was underlined that France is ready to develop the relations with Turkmenistan on all range of cooperation and, in particular, intends to expand the presence of the French business in the Turkmen market, offering its best practices in high technologies and innovations in various branches of economy.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Laurent Fabius and the delegations of foreign policy departments of two countries took part in the work of second meeting of Turkmen-French working group on cooperation in the field of power.

Upon completion of the meeting the bilateral documents - the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of France about air traffic, as well as the Cooperation agreement between Commerce and Industry Chamber of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of commerce "France-Turkmenistan", and also the Memorandum of understanding between the Turkmen state institute of oil and gas and open joint stock company "Total" were signed.
