The plenipotentiary ambassador of Kazakhstan in Italy and the Republic of Malta in combination Andrian Elemesov handed over credentials to the president of the Republic of Malta George Abela on Thursday, the press service the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

Accepting credentials, the president of Malta warmly greeted the ambassador of Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that his appointment will give a new impulse to the Kazakhstan-Maltese relations and will increase the quality of practical interaction between two countries.

In the course of the talks held after the ceremony, the condition and prospects of the bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Malta in political and trade and economic spheres, as well as in the field of cultural and humanitarian communications were discussed. The existence of a high potential for further deepening and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, its activization in the various directions was stated.

Elemesov informed the president of the Malta on social and economic successes of Kazakhstan, modern achievements of the country on the international scene, foreign policy initiatives in a context of "The Message of president Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan "Strategy "Kazakhstan - 2050": New political policy of the state".

Discussing the economic component of the bilateral relations, the parties noted that trade and economic and investment contacts have rather small volume, however their positive dynamics is observed. The parties agreed that tourism development, expansion of connections in transport and communication spheres, use of Malta experience in the sphere of information technologies can become mutually advantageous spheres of cooperation.The agreement on the need of expansion of bilateral contract and legal base was reached.

On the same day the meeting of the Kazakhstan diplomat with the speaker of Parliament of Malta Michael Frendo took place.

The parties discussed the hottest topics of the international agenda, regional problems, the condition of Kazakhstan-Maltese relations.

"Creation of deputy group on parliamentary communications between our countries will intensify the inter-parliamentary cooperation, and the development of new agreements on cooperation will serve to strengthening of international legal base in various spheres", Elemesov noted.

The parties designated the ways of development of inter-parliamentary dialogue and agreed with the need of saturation of the atmosphere of the bilateral relations with concrete initiatives. .

An important point of the Ambassador's visit to Malta had became a business forum organized by the embassy of Kazakhstan.

The ambassador of Kazakhstan informed the participants on the current situation and prospects of development of the Kazakhstan economy, dynamically developing national innovative capacity, the preferences created in Kazakhstan for foreign business and investments. The opening business horizons in connection with the implementation of large-scale projects within the preparation of conducting the International specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" in Astana were especially noted. Elemesov invited representatives of the Maltese business to take an active part in the preparation of this forum.
