Cooperation is strengthening between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey, chief of the Turkish General Staff, Colonel-General Musa Avsever told Trend on Wednesday.
Azerbaijan is one of the most powerful countries in the region, Avsever said.
Generals of the Turkish Armed Forces will hold a series of meetings at the Ministry of Defence and a number of other law enforcement agencies as part of a visit to Azerbaijan. The purpose of the meetings is to strengthen cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, Avsever said.
A delegation of senior officers of the Turkish Armed Forces led by Colonel-General Musa Avsever visited the Alley of Honour and Alley of Martyrs as well as the Turkish Martyrdom Monument on Wednesday.
The delegation consists of 21 officers and nine generals of the air, naval and land forces, General Staff and other Turkish troops.
The visit will last until March 15.
