Azerbaijan, Baku, March 15 / Trend A.Taghiyeva /
Turkey is ready to establish a joint commission with Armenia consisting of historians to investigate the events of 1915, the Haber3 newspaper quotes Turkish President Abdullah Gul as saying on Friday.
President Gul said that the investigation of historical events is not a matter of parliamentarians or politicians. Gul said that third countries may also take part in the investigation of the events of 1915.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey's predecessor, the Ottoman Empire committed genocide in 1915 against Armenians living in Anadolu. Their efforts have achieved the recognition of the 'Armenian Genocide' by the parliaments of several countries.
