After gaining an official observer status at the UN, Palestine has the right to permanent membership of any international organisation, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in an exclusive interview to RT TV channel in Arabic - Rusiya al-Yaum today.
Abbas said the government reached an agreement on all points of political and public reforms.
"The creation of a transitional government under my presidency will be the main point of this work," he said. "So the compromise, when Fayyad's government leaves, has been reached. Hamas sought this. I will head the new government and Hamas has agreed."
Abbas said that the next item in this process is to hold general elections. These are the two major issues of reforms and they are implemented in parallel, he said.
