It is urgent for the Islamic world to unite against the West, the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday.
He made the remarks in a speech to the participants in Tehran's international Qur'an recitation contest, the ISNA News Agency reported.
He went on to note that the West has launched an open war on Muslims.
Ayatollah Khamenei also said that Muslims must today take any step necessary to promote their strength.
He further said that unity is the most important element that can boost the Muslims' strength.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that Islamic nations must support efforts to enhance unity among them.
