London to host international conference on Azerbaijani-British relations

Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CSS) will hold a conference in London on the theme "To broaden the coverage of the political agenda: the relationships between Britain and Azerbaijan in the European context", the CSS told Trend on Wednesday.

Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CSS) will hold a conference in London on the theme "To broaden the coverage of the political agenda: the relationships between Britain and Azerbaijan in the European context", the CSS told Trend on Wednesday.

The event, which will be held on July 4, is organized by the CSS jointly with the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies.

The conference will hold discussions on the topic "Help of Europe to the South Caucasus during the financial crisis", "The Role of the United Kingdom in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict", "Britain-Azerbaijan: prospects for cooperation."

The Azerbaijani delegation includes the deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, head of the Foreign Relations Department Novruz Mammadov, chief of the department of Political Analysis and Information Provision of the Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov, director of the Center for Strategic Studies Farhad Mammadov, Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies Gulshan Pashayeva and leading researcher of Foreign Policy Analysis Department Zaur Shiriyev.

It is expected that the event will be attended by the Minister for Europe David Lidington, the head of the Azerbaijan's permanent mission to NATO Khazar Ibrahim, the former British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Bateman, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov and others.
