Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 23 /Trend E. Mehdiyev /
Azerbaijan has quite a big experience in holding elections, whether it is the Central Election Commission (CEC), its structures, government bodies or bodies of executive power, Deputy Chief of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Affairs Department Arastun Mehdiyev said on Friday.
All of the mentioned have sufficient local and international experience, Mehdiyev said at the session on Inadmissibility of unlawful interference into the electoral process.
According to Mehdiyev, Azerbaijan has entered a phase of very important political processes and on October 9 this country will hold a presidential election.
"It is known that the presidential elections create conditions for decision making and expressing will and position for identifying the perspectives and directions of development in Azerbaijan in the next five years. From this point of view, the presidential election in Azerbaijan is a very important event in country's socio-economic life. Experience gained during previous elections in Azerbaijan, professionalism of persons participating in this process, will allow holding the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan at the required level," Mehdiyev underscored.
On the other hand, the conditions created for this in the country, the political will of Azerbaijani authorities led by the President Ilham Aliyev and necessary measures taken in this field make it possible to hold the next free, democratic and transparent presidential election in accordance with national law and international standards, Mehdiyev said.
"Azerbaijan is closely cooperating with international organizations in this sphere. Seminars and events held jointly with the OSCE contribute to holding elections at a high level," he added.
