Turkish Air Force fighters are on full alert due to possible military operation in Syria by the Western countries, Sabah newspaper wrote on Wednesday.
According to the newspaper, some 20 F-16 fighter aircrafts took off from different bases in Turkey in the country's air force base to the province of Diyarbakir, which is located near the Turkish-Syrian border.
Furthermore, the Turkish fighters conduct daily exercises near the Syrian border in case of a military operation in Syria.
Some Western countries and Turkey called for intervention in Syria after another aggravation of the situation in the country.
On August 21 some media outlets reported about large-scale implementation of chemical weapons by Syrian government forces in the vicinity of Damascus.
According to preliminary information over 600 people became the victims of the attack.
The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces claimed that the number of victims could have reached 1.3 thousand people.
After the incident, the conflicting sides have repeatedly stated their innocence, blaming the opponents.
Earlier, the U.S. President Barack Obama said that the use of chemical weapons would be a 'red line' for Bashar Assad's regime.
Media outlets reported on the preparation of the Navies and the Air Forces of Western countries for commencing intervention.
