Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 30 /Trend M.Aliyev/
Azerbaijan's economic results in the last 10 years have been very successful, the Chief of the Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of Administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Elnur Aslanov said.
Aslanov made the remarks on Friday in Baku at the ASAIF XI Summer Forum (Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum).
The official said that in some years the high rates of Azerbaijan's economic growth have reached 35 percent, the level of poverty sharply decreased from 47 percent in 2003 to 6 percent today and unemployment decreased thanks to the creation of new jobs.
Aslanov went on to add that Azerbaijani President's policy creates a reliable foundation for country's future development.
"This list can be extended, but I want to note that all these results are the obvious examples of creation of new activity spheres in the country, as well as, all-round development of the economy built upon a strong foundation. The concept of Azerbaijan's development has a very progressive character and contains various elements, one of which is the creation of opportunities for the youth to get high quality education," Aslanov said.
According to the official, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attaches a special significance to turning the 'black gold' (oil resources) into human capital, in particular the formation of new creative generation of the youth, which has good scientific knowledge.
"The program, by which many of you are studying abroad, is successfully going on, and each year the number of students sent to study abroad increases. We will not, in any case, lose the invested money if they decide to stay and work in the country where they were educated, but on the contrary, we will get future representatives of Azerbaijani lobby. This gives Azerbaijan new opportunities for propaganda and extends its 'soft-power's opportunities," Aslanov added.
He noted that, there are some forces abroad and inside Azerbaijan, envying country's socio-economic development and independent policy.
"They are trying to violate Azerbaijan's stability, prevent the national development. Of course, together we will suppress their efforts. We will not allow these forces, even in small extent, to harm Azerbaijan's development. Today the projects implemented by Azerbaijan contribute to the stability and long-term development of the region," Aslanov underscored.
