Turkey's ambassador to Cairo, who was recalled to Ankara due to deteriorating Turkish-Egyptian relations, will return to Egypt today, Hürriyet newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Ambassador Huseyin Avni Botsali was recalled from Cairo on August 16 for consultations. In response, Egypt recalled its Ambassador to Ankara Abdurrahman Salahaddin.
Relations between Turkey and Egypt have deteriorated recently. Egypt accuses Turkey of intervening in its internal affairs. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier said the Egyptian army committed genocide against its own people while suppressing demonstrations of Morsi supporters, resulting in over 800 civilians being killed.
