State Committee: Meeting of experts on delimitation of borders between Azerbaijan and Georgia to be held in near future

A meeting of the experts of the Commission on Georgian-Azeri border delimitation will be held soon, the chairman of State Land and Cartography Committee of Azerbaijan, Garib Mammadov told Trend on Tuesday.

He stressed that during the meeting, some documents will be discussed. "Documents related to the delimitation require special study by various governmental organizations, therefore archives must be viewed again. Most of these documents has remained from the time of the Soviet Union. At the same time, the corresponding measuring activities are conducted at the border strip," the head of the State Committee said.

Mammadov stressed that the date and time of the meeting of experts is not defined yet. According to him, for a meeting on delimitation of borders between the two states, the parties must provide new materials.

The length of the border between Azerbaijan and Georgia is 480 kilometers. Of these, 280 kilometers have already been agreed upon by state commissions.
