Tajikistan's consolidation of reformatory powers officially declared the nomination of human rights activist Oynikhol Bobonazarova as a single opposition candidate to the post of the country's president, Asia-plus reported on Tuesday.
This decision was made by a coalition that was considering 8 candidates.
Bobonazarova was elected unanimously.
The other candidates were Mukhiddin Kabiri, Rakhmatillo Zoyyirov, Makhmudjon Kasimov, Khodjimuhammed Umarov, Khodji Akbar Turadjonzoda.
Bobonazarova on her turn said that even her relatives are against her choice, but nevertheless she decided to become a single candidate from opposition and fight for rights and democracy in Tajikistan.
