Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 18 /Trend Mehdiyev/
Observation missions of international organizations have already begun to work in Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Natig Mammadov told journalists on Wednesday.
He noted that, according to the latest data, over 140 international observers have already been registered at CEC.
Mammadov underscored that great attention has always been paid to the election process in Azerbaijan.
"At the past elections, the number of local observers exceeded 50,000. This suggests that the attention to the elections is very high. The number of international observers was also considerable. They are the members of long-term observation mission," the Deputy Chairman said.
He added that the number of local and foreign observers is expected to increase on the election day.
"The most important thing is that we are open for observation, and the best conditions have been created for the activities of the observation missions," he said.
According to Mammadov, the observation of elections in Azerbaijan can be carried out from anywhere in the world.
"In any case, we intend to hold the elections at that level, for the assessment of this process to be on the highest level," Mammadov said.
