The Muslim Brotherhood movement in Egypt admitted that it made political mistakes, a statement posted on the organisation's official website on Friday said.
According to the statement, one of its political mistakes is that after the overthrow of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, the Muslim Brotherhood held secret negotiations with the former head of the country's intelligence Omar Suleiman, as well as with the military to conduct gradual reforms in Egypt.
The statement also stressed that these negotiations were held despite the presence of the revolutionary forces in the country and the Muslim Brotherhood apologises for it.
The Egyptian Army amid a wave of popular discontent by the Muslim Brotherhood Movement's government, ousted Egyptian President Morsi in July 3, 2013 and announced a transition period in Egypt. Almost immediately, the president of Egypt was arrested. The ensuing bloody protest of Islamist supporters led to another crisis in Egypt.
