The project of Southern Gas Corridor will unite countries, and will become a reliable ground for cooperation in energy and political spheres, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu said at the opening of Caspian Forum New York on Wednesday.
According to him, energy corridors are the carriers of political stability.
Davutoglu noted that Southern Gas Corridor, which connects several countries, means peace and order in those countries.
The minister went on to note that Turkey considers energy security as a must-have condition. Davutoglu added that Turkey's economy is growing and country's GDP has grown by 4 times.
"The pipeline connecting Caucasian region with Balkans and Mediterranean area - will provide cooperation between countries. In particular, the cooperation with Georgia will make this project effective," he said.
The minister went on to note that energy security of Europe is the best alternative to today's reality, and added that this project will affect world energy market.
Caspian Forum New York that was held on September 25.
The Forum is designed to host Heads of States, Prime Ministers, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and other high level bureaucrats, top executives and relevant officials of international energy, infrastructure, law, security and consultancy companies, representatives of the academic world, policy institutions and media to discuss the Southern Gas Corridor in terms of European energy security, presenting networking opportunities at the highest level.
