Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met his Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati during his visit to New York.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister visited New York to participate in the 68th Session of the UN General Session.
During the meeting, the Albanian Foreign Minister noted that cooperation with the European Union and implementation of the TAP project are considered significant areas of foreign policy of Albania's new government, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
The Albanian Minister spoke about the strategic significance of the TAP project and underscored that this project is of importance not only for Albania, but also for the whole region.
In turn, Mammadyarov said that there are wide opportunities for development of cooperation between the two countries, and noted the importance of the cooperation in energy sphere.
An exchange of ideas on issues of common interest was also carried out during the meeting.
