The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has issued a statement on the meeting between Defence Minister Safar Abiyev and U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar.
According to the statement, no mistake was made in the item which refers to the ambassador. His words were cited literally, the Defence Ministry said today.
"If the embassy insists on making its own position, the defence ministry is ready to deliver the audio recording of Ambassador Richard Morningstar's words," a statement said.
The Defence Ministry also stressed that it prevents the spread of any inaccurate or wrong information.
It should be stressed that the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan issued a statement.
The words, indicated in the information of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, in connection with the Azerbaijani presidential election at the meeting of Defence Minister Safar Abiyev and U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar, are wrong.
