By Rahim Zamanov - Trend: Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Ali Abdollahi rejected the claims that the killing of Safdar Rahmat-Abadi was an assassination.

"The incident was not related to political issues, therefore it's a murder case, not an assassination," the ISNA News Agency quoted Abdollahi as saying.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Safdar Rahmat-Abadi was killed in Tehran on November 10, IRNA reported.

According to the report an unidentified attacker shot him when he was in his personal car in Golbarg Street, in the eastern part of Tehran.

Rahmat-Abadi was the parliamentary deputy of Industry, Mines and Trade Ministry.

The report says that two bullets were shot to his head and chest.

A police officer told IRNA News Agency that the bullets were shot from inside the victim's vehicle.

"The evidence shows that the killer was talking to Rahmat-Abadi before shooting him," he added.
