Former footballer, deputy from the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party Hakan Shukur submitted a statement of resignation from his party, Turkish newspaper Zaman reported today.

The reason for the resignation was the party's policy aimed at closing the private educational courses in Turkey, according to the report.
