Official: Iran won’t allow IAEA to inspect its military facilities

The spokesman of Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Behrouz Kamalvandi has denied comments attributed to the organization’s head Ali Akbar Salehi who said Tehran has agreed to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect its military facilities, the Fars News Agency reported on December 21.

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: The spokesman of Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Behrouz Kamalvandi has denied comments attributed to the organization's head Ali Akbar Salehi who said Tehran has agreed to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect its military facilities, the Fars News Agency reported on December 21.

Several medias have quoted Salehi as saying on Dec.20 that Tehran has agreed to allow the IAEA to inspect its military facilities.

According to the reports, "The Islamic Republic will subject their missile and military industries under IAEA inspection for transparency and in accordance with the agreement signed between them and the International Atomic Energy Agency," Salehi said, the Mehr news agency reported.

According to Mehr, Salehi made the remarks on the sidelines of the meeting held on Dec.19 with Shiite figures in the city of Qom.
