"Azerbaijan examines the opinions voiced in the appeals, but the society has its own management methods, principles and laws," he said.

"The country's relevant bodies are taking certain actions, considering the interests and laws of the Azerbaijan Republic," he said. "The actions are taken given the interests of Azerbaijan and the requirements of the law."

"The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office issued an appeal in connection with Anar Mammadli," Hasanov said. "The investigation is underway."

Earlier it was reported that a criminal case was filed at the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office on October 29, 2013.
