Crimeans will not obey the nationalists and Banderovites.The self-defense units are a natural response to what is happening in Kiev, said Viktor Yanukovych, who earlier declared his legitimacy as president of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported Feb. 28.
"Crimeans, naturally do not want to obey and will not obey the nationalists and Banderovites. The desire of ordinary people, of Crimeans to provide self-organization, to establish self-defense groups is completely clear; they want to protect their homes and their land, it is a natural desire of people," Yanukovych said.
It became known on Feb.27 that the building of Crimea's parliment and Council of Ministers in Simferopol are controlled by self-defense forces of the Russian-speaking population.
