Viktor Yanukovych, who earlier declared his legitimacy as president of Ukraine, pointed out the need for an independent investigation of what happened in the country at a press conference in Rostov-on-Don on Feb.28, RIA Novosti reported.
"Initially there must be an independent investigation involving the government and opposition - this is the first - and the Council of Europe. After an independent investigation, it will be possible to talk about some courts," Yanukovych said, answering a question about his actions in the event of investigation of the case at the Hague Tribunal.
