Azerbaijani President has held a number of meetings on Sunday.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received former President of Serbia Boris Tadic.

The sides noted successful development of Azerbaijan-Serbia relations in political, economic and other fields, and stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in terms of expansion of the bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku would contribute to enhancement of the international cooperation.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received former President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic.

The sides expressed satisfaction with dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Croatia relations in various areas, and noted there was good potential for enhancing the economic cooperation.

The parties emphasized the significance of the issues to be discussed at the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku in terms of development of cooperation between countries.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak.

The sides noted that bilateral relations between the two countries were developing successfully.

The parties stressed that the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku would create good opportunities for holding discussions over continuous development of cooperation between countries.

Then, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received former President of Finland Tarja Halonen.

Former President of Finland Tarja Halonen said she was deeply impressed by Azerbaijan`s achievements in the economic field amid financial and economic crisis in the world.

The head of state said that as in all areas great attention was paid to development of economy, including the non-oil sector in the country.

The parties highlighted the importance of the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received former President of Bulgaria Petar Stoyanov.

The parties noted bilateral relations between the two countries had been expanding in a variety of fields, and stressed that the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku would create good opportunities for holding discussions over the strengthening of cooperation

Moreover, Ilham Aliyev received former President of Moldova Petru Lucinschi.

Former President Petru Lucinschi presented the book of aphorisms of great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi, which was published in four languages in Moldova, to the head of state.

The sides noted that Azerbaijan-Moldova relations were successfully developing, and emphasized the importance of the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku in terms of enhancement of the international cooperation.

Then Azerbaijani President received former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu.

The parties expressed satisfaction with overall development of Azerbaijan-Romania relations, and underlined the importance of the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers.

The sides noted with satisfaction that relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia were dynamically developing in various spheres, and expressed confidence results of the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku would be successful.

Then Ilham Aliyev received former President of Estonia Arnold Ruutel.

Former President of Estonia Arnold Ruutel hailed Azerbaijan`s achievements as phenomenal amid the financial and economic crisis that hit the world.

The parties expressed satisfaction with development of the bilateral relations, and noted the importance of the 2nd Global Shared Societies Forum to be held in Baku in terms of exchanging views over regional and international cooperation.
