A team of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors headed by the IAEA Deputy Chief visited the Ardakan yellowcake production plant in Yazd province in Central Iran.

Massimo Aparo, who heads the IAEA's inspection team, visited the facility on May 7 on the Iran-IAEA seven-article agreement, Iran's Fars news agency reported.

Aparo and his team also visited Saghand uranium mine in Yazd province on May 6.

The IAEA team arrived in Tehran on May 5 to meet with senior Iranian nuclear officials and visit the country's nuclear facilities in accordance to the agreement signed by the IAEA and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) in November.

Representatives of the AEOI and the IAEA in a meeting in Tehran yesterday wrapped up talks over the safeguard issues related to Arak heavy water reactor. The IAEA inspectors will leave Tehran for Vienna today night.

Last week, AEOI Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said that a team of IAEA inspectors to be headed by chief inspector Massimo Aparo would visit a uranium ore concentrate processing plant and a uranium mine in Iran this week.

Iran agreed to take seven "practical steps" in its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, according to the joint statement of Iran and the IAEA. Based on the agreement, Iran should allow IAEA access to Saghand uranium mine and Ardakan yellow cake complex in the central province of Yazd.

Iran agreed to provide more information about its Arak heavy- water reactor and implement the agreed procedure on the reactor.

Iran will complete the agreement's implementation by May 15.
