Amanzhol Alpysbayev was appointed acting head of the Kazakh Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies, the Kazakh government said on July 29.

"Murat Ospanov was dismissed," according to the statement. "Amanzhol Alpysbayev was appointed acting head of the Kazakh Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies."

Earlier it was reported that the head of the Kazakh Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies Murat Ospanov was arrested on July 1, 2014 after being questioned by the Kazakh Financial Police Agency. Later, the court sanctioned his arrest. Ospanov was accused of receiving a bribe worth $300,000 for assisting and protecting the entity of natural monopolies.
