Turkey unambiguously supports Georgia's territorial integrity and its sovereignty, Georgian Prime Minister, Nika Gilauri told journalists after meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"I have received strong support for Georgia's territorial integrity by Turkey and the issue cannot be questioned," he said.
Georgian Labor Party Leader Shalva Natelashvili said Tuesday that Turkey faced a series of anti-Georgian coalition and is ready to recognize independence of Georgia's separatist regions - Abkhazia and South Ossetia - in exchange for recognition of the Turkish Cyprus.
Gilauri said the sides also discussed economic cooperation, which is a good tool for political relations. "This is the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which has somewhat come to a standstill, but everything has already been solved, and the construction of new transmission lines, which will allow us to export electricity and to implement other projects that will serve to strengthen our relations," said the Prime Minister of Georgia.
The Georgian delegation headed by Gilauri participated in the meeting of the IMF in Istanbul.
Today, the delegates have returned to their homeland.
