Slovenia expects from Kazakhstan political initiatives and new ideas to forthcoming OSCE Chairmanship in 2010.
"We want to know foreign minister's thoughts and ideas about Kazakhstan's chairmanship to the OSCE," President of Slovenia Danilo Turk said during the talks with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan on Wednesday in Astana.
We agree that it's time for a new era of cooperation and it is necessary to hold OSCE Summit in 2010," Danilo Turk said.
"We are very interested to hear your vision of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union," he noted.
"Slovenia as EU member participates in its foreign policy and energy security," President of Slovenia said.
"Slovenia is very interested to participate in the formation of energy policy, fully aware of what a strategic role Kazakhstan played in this direction," Danilo Turk said.
The leaders of several countries in Europe, including French President Nicolas Sarkozy, supported the Astana city's initiative to hold OSCE Summit in 2010.
Previous OSCE Summit was held in 1999 in Istanbul.
