Kairat Kelimbetov was elected president of the Kazakhstan Cycle Racing Federation today. Kelimbetov is chairman of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund, the Fund Samruk Kazina told Trend News.

The government will continue supporting cycling as Kazakhstan has demonstrated superior results in international competitions in recent years, Kelimbetov said.

"Your sports achievements are important for enhancing Kazakhstan's image worldwide. Cyclists have set a very high bar, which we all must attain," he said
