Kazak Foreign Minister to pay official visit to Afghanistan

Kazakhstan, Astana, Nov. 20 / Trend News K. Konyrova /

Kazak Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabaev will pay an official visit to Afghanistan Nov. 22.

"I will pay an official visit to Afghanistan Nov. 22. We will sign a cooperation agreement in the humanitarian and social and economic spheres," Kazak Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabaev told journalists.

Rehabilitation and stabilization in Afghanistan cannot be achieved through military means alone.

"We have to help the people of the country to maintain peace and build the economy. This will help the country tremendously," Saudabaev said.

Kazakhstan is taking concrete steps in this regard, he said.

"Upon the initiative of our president, Kazakhstan is allocating $50 million to educate Afghan youths. We will work to develop education in the country and help stabilize the situation in Afghanistan within the OSCE," the minister said.
