![]() Greece, Athens, Dec. 1 / Trend News E.Huseynov / OSCE Special Representative on Nagorno-Karabakh and Special Envoy on Georgia Goran Lennmarker plans to visit Azerbaijan in late January to discuss regional issues. "The date of the visit has not yet been clarified," Lennmarker said in Athens at the OSCE Ministerial Council. "It will depend on Ukraine's elections." According to the official, he will make a regional visit. "We will visit Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and discuss issues of cooperation with the OSCE, as well as regional issues with the leaders of these countries," he added. The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.
