A Il-76 cargo plane detained in Thailand for transporting arms was rented out by a Georgian firm to a Ukrainian company,Georgian National Transportation Administration head Giorgi Bokuchava said.

He issued a clarification on a recent statement that the detained aircraft belonged to Georgia and was transporting weapons to the Middle East.

"The aircraft belongs to a Georgian airline, but was rented by a Ukrainian company," Bokuchava said.
