Madrid hosts roundtable on Kazakhstan's position towards "prolonged conflicts"

The San Pablo University, Madrid hosted a round table on "Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE: intercultural and religious dialogue", Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ilyas Omarov told Trend News.

The university's students and professors, representatives of the diplomatic corps and Spanish government, as well as journalists of the leading Spanish media agencies attended the event, he said.

He said the participants had a lively exchange of views.

"The audience expressed increased interest in the questions concerning Kazakhstan's position on resolution of the " protracted conflicts ", coordination of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE and Spain's in the EU in the first half of 2010, OSCE Chairman's activities in combating various manifestations of nationalism and extremism and promotion of the  tolerance policies ," he added.

The roundtable also demonstrated a documentary film on the Spanish "Religions in Kazakhstan" and launched a photo exhibition about contemporary Kazakhstan.
