![]() France, Strasburg, Feb. 4 / Trend News A.Maharramli / The Council of Europe Committee discussed and issued a conclusion on the AGO Monitoring Group's report on its visit to Azerbaijan and Armenia Nov. 20-25. In the report, the group welcomes Azerbaijan's progress toward fulfilling its commitments to the Council of Europe, particularly in bringing national legislation into conformity with the council. The report also stressed the structural reforms of the Azerbaijani authorities. The group recommends continuing reforms to achieve greater progress in important areas such as electoral legislation and practice, freedom of expression and media, independence of the judiciary, fighting corruption and local government. The report also contains specific items relating to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. See Also:
