The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) held a presentation of the book "Unudulmaz gorushlar ("Unforgettable meetings"), dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev.
Publishing such books assumes great importance both in terms of presenting historical truth to the future generations and forming moral and cultural values, the NAP deputy chairman, MP Ali Ahmadov said in his speech at the presentation of book "Unudulmaz gorushlar" ("Unforgettable meetings") by national writer Anar, dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev.
"Respect for the memory of the former head of state is an indicator of a mature spirituality of the nation. This book is also assumes great moral and educational importance. The book also reflects Heydar Aliyev's approach and attitude towards culture and cultural figures," he said.
The basic idea of the book is to show Heydar Aliyev's merits in the period of national state building, and in particular his contributions to culture, said MP Nizami Jafarov.
"Heydar Aliyev image has not yet been established in our literature. This book is one of the first steps to create this image," said the MP.
